What would the British Library piazza on the Euston Road look like if a Pollinator Pathmaker edition were planted there? This video installation, commissioned for ‘Unearthed: The Power of Gardening’, envisages just that.
Depicting an unrealised Pollinator Pathmaker edition – scheme 7oEAStumJHdqsvvZT4W8wt – you experience a virtual garden composed of Ginsberg's digital paintings of each plant species the algorithm has selected from the Atlantic Europe plant palette.
Seen from the perspective of a foraging insect, rather than from the top-down view of a human, we glide through an otherworldly space where the colouring flips between human view and Ginsberg's 'pollinator vision' filter, changing our perspective.
The video forms part of an expanding series from Ginsberg's award-winning Polliantor Pathmaker work.
